Meet Angela
Tacocat Wellness was created by Angela Rockwell (me!) in the Summer of 2021 and currently operates out of Washington State.
I created Tacocat Wellness to address the pressing need for accessible, inclusive, and affirming mental health resources. Recognizing the loneliness epidemic and the systemic marginalization faced by many folks, particularly within BIPOC, queer, and neurodivergent communities, Tacocat Wellness aims to foster connection and meaningful conversations about mental health and wellness.
My goal is to provide functional and accessible practical tools, resources, and support to help folks cultivate well-being on their terms.
In the Fall of 2024, after listening to feedback from my 1:1 and group clients, I decided to expand Tacocat Wellness from somatic coaching into downloadable resources and wearables. They expressed a desire for additional resources, so I created them! When they saw my sweaters and asked where they came from, I was stoked to share that I made them! It feels good to wear something you created and even better to see someone else enjoy your imagination out loud.
A little bit about me…
I’m Angela (they/she), a Filipino, queer, autistic human living in the Pacific Northwest with my spouse and two cats, Fitzgerald and Louise.
I grew up in Southern California as the oldest in a blended family (it’s ME!!! I’m the eldest emotional support daughter). I’ve survived interpersonal violence, poverty, and inequity in the legal and social services systems. These experiences have informed how I approach my work (and life in general).
I moved to the Pacific Northwest in the Summer of 2017 and love living in the woods. I enjoy cooking, spending time outdoors, listening to records, and drawing in my leisure time.
Like so many of us, I’m just out here trying my best to operate my meat suit.

Angela brings over 15 years of professional experience to her practice, combining a rich academic background with extensive hands-on expertise. She holds undergraduate degrees in nursing sciences, psychology, and Deaf studies and graduate coursework in clinical psychology and behavioral sciences.
For more than a decade, Angela has worked in disability services, occupying both administrative and clinical roles primarily within non-profit organizations. Initially aspiring to become a board-certified behavioral analyst (BCBA), Angela reevaluated their career path upon discovering the harmful effects of applied behavior analysis principles and the associated human rights violations. This pivotal moment prompted her to reflect on their motivations and approach to care.
