Tacocat Wellness is a trauma-informed and abolitionist-aligned wellness brand that offers somatic coaching, community-focused business strategies, and radical self-care tools. Our offerings range from playful merchandise to burnout-proof coaching for small businesses and entrepreneurs. We support queer, BIPOC, neurodivergent, and chronically ill folks in creating lives, relationships, and businesses that prioritize accessibility, nervous system stability, and longevity.
At Tacocat Wellness, we believe healing and liberation are deeply personal, political, and interconnected. Our approach helps you reimagine your relationship with your nervous system through trauma-informed, justice-rooted, and accessible tools.
Whether navigating burnout, building a values-aligned business, or simply trying to make it through the week, we meet you where you are and guide you toward your goals without imposing unrealistic expectations on yourself.
We combine somatic experiencing, creative expression, and stress-release practices with harm-reduction strategies that embrace the complexity and nuance of meeting your unique needs.
Our spaces are intentionally designed to support all neurotypes and bodies, focusing on accessibility, consent, and dismantling oppressive systems — not just in theory but in every offering we create and facilitate.
We're here for people with overwhelmed brains and burnt-out nervous systems who have always had to figure things out on their own.

Meet the human behind the cat
Somatic coach, abolitionist, & eccentric eldest daughter energy.
I’m Angela Rockwell (they/she), a Filipino, queer, and autistic human living in the Pacific Northwest with my spouse and two cats, Fitzgerald and Louise. I’m a therapist, coach, and educator supporting people to understand their nervous systems, reconnect with themselves, and build sustainable lives, relationships, and businesses grounded in radical care.
I founded Tacocat Wellness in 2021 to meet a growing need for trauma-informed, abolitionist-aligned care. Rooted in lived experience and guided by community, my practice centers BIPOC, queer, neurodivergent, and chronically ill folks — especially those navigating complexity, burnout, and significant life transitions. What began as a somatic coaching practice has become a wellness brand, offering 1:1, relational, and group coaching, business strategy, digital resources, and tangible tools for nervous system support.
“I’m not here to fix anyone. I’m here to offer tools, presence, and reminders that you're not too much, not too late, and not alone. Whether you're healing, creating, or trying to survive late-stage capitalism in a meat suit, you're welcome here.”

I bring over 15 years of experience across clinical, educational, and community-based settings, backed by undergraduate degrees in nursing sciences, psychology, and Deaf studies and graduate coursework in clinical psychology and behavioral science. My care practice is further shaped by certifications in:
Applied Polyvagal Theory
Embodied Social Justice
Embodied Conflict Resolution & Non-Violent Communication
Integrated Somatic Trauma Therapy (ISTT)
Intuitive Eating Counseling
Psychedelics & Somatics
Somatic Stress Release™
Somatic Attachment Therapy
Somatic Experiencing with Dr. Peter Levine
Therapeutic Polyvagal Yoga
Yoga for Sexual Assault Survivors
I’m also a certified trauma-informed yoga instructor (Yin, Restorative, and Nidra) and a Kink Aware Professional (KAP) who values full-spectrum consent, autonomy, and identity safety.
My coaching style is grounded, relational, and somatic. I prioritize validation and client-centered pacing, honoring that behavior is adaptive and that your body holds stories worth listening to. I create containers where complexity is welcome — where trauma isn’t minimized, and healing isn’t pathologized. Together, we’ll build tools for capacity, resilience, and rest — centering gentleness, agency, and autonomy.
-
I was raised in Southern California as the eldest in a large blended family (yep — I’m the “eldest emotional support daughter”). I’ve survived interpersonal violence, poverty, medical trauma, and systemic neglect. These experiences have shaped my care ethics, my deep commitment to harm reduction, and my refusal to treat people like problems to be solved.
Initially on track to become a BCBA, I stepped away after confronting the human rights concerns embedded in applied behavior analysis. That pivot cracked something open in me, and I committed to care work that prioritizes liberation, authenticity, and autonomy over compliance.
-
I moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2017 and feel most alive in the woods, in the kitchen, or curled up with a sketchbook and a record on.
In the Fall of 2024, after receiving a lot of feedback from clients and community members, I began expanding Tacocat Wellness to include digital downloads and merch. Folks wanted more accessible tools, and honestly? I wanted more joy (and a place to showcase my dark humor - thanks trauma!). Creating tangible reminders of nervous system care — and seeing people light up when they resonate with a design — has been unexpectedly healing. It’s a soft kind of magic.
I’m not here to fix anyone. I’m here to offer tools, presence, and reminders that you're not too much, not too late, and not alone. Whether you're healing, creating, or just trying to survive late-stage capitalism in a meat suit, you're welcome here.

Here’s your invitation to quit talking about it and start feeling through it.
Time to choose your own adventure!

TESTIMONIALS
"Working with Angela has been life-changing. I’ve done years of talk therapy, but nothing helped me understand my body like this. I finally feel like I can pause, breathe, and choose how to respond instead of spiraling into freeze or shutdown."
J.D. (45 y/o), AuDHD, queer parent of two neurodivergent kiddos
Angela’s workshop, "Somatics for Burnout Brains & Tired Bodies,” was the first time someone talked about burnout in a way that actually made sense to me as a neurodivergent and multi-disabled person. I left feeling grounded, not overwhelmed, and like I was allowed to take up space in my own healing.
A.N. (24 y/o), queer, neurodivergent, & chronically ill artist + activist
"We came in unsure if coaching would help our relationship — we left with better communication, more trust, and a shared language for what’s happening in our nervous systems. It's changed how we show up for each other."
K (36 y/o) & D (34 y/o), Neurodivergent poly couple in a long-term partnership
"Every time I tried to scale my business, I burned out. Angela helped me build sustainable systems that actually work for my ADHD brain. I never felt shame or guilt about what I was or wasn’t doing in my business. It’s the first time I’ve felt hopeful about growing."
L.C. (32 y/o), designer + creative entrepreneur

We do seasonal-ish drops every few months with limited-run items that reflect what we’re currently feeling, navigating, or creating space for — usually tied to themes like self-care, burnout, and neurodivergence.
There are always a handful of staple items available year-round, but the big themed collections come and go. We use this shop as a creative outlet, so the more creative flow we’ve got, the more the store will grow.
