We are a trauma-informed somatic coaching practice

We hold an anti-oppression & abolitionist framework, working to recognize & name the harm caused by many social constructs.

We support folks to heal through their traumatic lived experiences by unlearning, rethinking, & repairing their relationship with their nervous system.

Tacocat Wellness is dedicated to providing an anti-racist, LGBTQIA2S+ affirming, Fat Positive, Sex Positive, Disability & Neurodivergent affirming space for those seeking mental wellness support. This practice also supports harm reduction & safe-use methods.

Further, we acknowledge the trauma associated with social constructs & institutions including, but not limited to, religion, academics, medical care, & social services.

Created with you in mind

We’re committed to serving BIPOC, queer, and neurodivergent folks looking to better understand the ways their chronic stress and trauma triggers show up and manifest in their bodies.

We specialize in holding space for folks who have a history of trauma, as well as those who hold identity intersections that are often systemically marginalized & under-supported.

We aim to create "containers of support" for folks to process their emotions, understand, and meet their needs using individualized, accessible, and practical tools.

Our focus is on creating supportive environments for processing emotions drawing on a variety of holistic approaches including somatic experiencing, somatic stress release, somatic attachment theory, and expressive art to name a few.

We embrace all neurotypes and advocate for MAD Liberation principles. We recognize the privilege associated with formal diagnoses and support self-assessment, self-identification, and self-diagnosis. If you're questioning your relationship to a particular condition, we're here to provide support throughout that journey.

Our practice addresses eating disorders, self-harm, and addiction with a harm-reduction approach, eschewing abstinence-only models.

Areas of specialization include:

  • Developmental trauma

  • Institutional trauma - religious, academic, workplace

  • Trauma related to social justice organizing, demonstrating, and law enforcement

  • Sex industry

  • Queer issues

  • Mixed race experiences
